Nicolas is an experienced litigator with a proven track record defending high-stakes cases on behalf of both individual and corporate clients. A true defense attorney, he has taken on prosecutors and plaintiff attorneys in both State and Federal Courts throughout Florida. Whether facing life in prison or a multi-million-dollar claim, Nicolas has the experience, creativity, and confidence to provide his clients with the most sophisticated and efficient defense possible.

A native of Colombia, Nicolas is fully bilingual and well versed in cross-country matters involving Latin America and the Caribbean, including representing European insurance companies in disputes with hospitals in Latin America. His personal background allows Nicolas to bridge cultural and linguistic barriers on behalf of clients looking to do business throughout Latin America.

Nicolas earned his B.A. from the University of Florida and his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law. During law school Nicolas began practicing as a Student Attorney for the Barton Juvenile Defense Clinic, where he represented juveniles in criminal matters. After graduation he went on to be a Public Defender for 3 years, where he gained experience representing clients in everything from DUIs to Sex Crimes and Life Felonies.  He then went on to start his private practice with a high-end criminal defense boutique firm before joining Nicklaus & Associates.

On a personal level, Nicolas is a certified PADI diver and enjoys exploring the beauty of the Florida waters whenever possible. He is also a fan of soccer, MMA, podcasts, and Florida Gators sports.
